Case #173 - Minneapolitans Take No Crap
Minneapolis Police sergeant Grant Snyder arguably has made more Village Voice Backpage pimp arrests than any law enforcement officer in the country.
If any law enforcement agency could let us know of any officer anywhere who has made close to the number of Sergeant Snyder’s arrests, we would appreciate it. Otherwise, until notified, Sergeant Snyder is the unofficial, undisputed champion of Backpage.com arrests.
Matter of fact, if any law enforcement agency volunteers arrest reports of Village Voice Backpage pimps, we will feature them here. But don't ya'll speak up at once! There's only so many hours in the day!
In Sergeant Snyder's most recent Village Voice crime fighting, he made 2 more arrests, this one involving a 17 year-old runaway girl, who was sold on Backpage. You can read all the details here.
Law enforcement officers like Sergeant Snyder, take blood money out of the pockets of Village Voice. Their attorney, Madam Liz McDougall, hired to protect the blood money profits obtained from pimps, arrogantly said on national TV that she knows more than 48 Attorneys General on this subject and looks totally ridiculous by refusing to answer a pointed question about how much money Village Voice makes off these sex ads. Village Voice Media made a strategic error in hiring Madam McDougall to do televised interviews. She may be good defending criminals in a courtroom, but as a public relations representative, she is a complete failure. See ABC News video:
Madam Liz McDougall has to this day, continuously asserted that if Backpage.com’s “adult services section” (prostitution ads) gets taken down, the dirty money would just move overseas. Ernie Allen, the head of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children thoroughly discredits that notion. See below video where Anderson Cooper asks Allen: "Do you think it would be a step in the right direction? (shutting down backpage.com)" Ernie Allen: “I certainly do. We worked for 2 years with Craig’s List in the same way. They reported to us aggressively, they screened, they monitored. After 2 years they concluded that it wasn’t working and that they needed to do something else…the volume of ads dropped dramatically when Craig’s List shut down its adult ads. Some of that migrated to Backpage but much of it hasn’t." (See 7:30 into this video)
U.S. Senator Marco Rubio says that Village Voice’s child sex traffficking ad business is “grotesque, it is unacceptable, it is disgusting…We have a continuing obligation to shame them into doing the right thing”.
That’s where you come in. Please help Sergeant Grant Snyder, and all the Minnesota heroes who are doing something about it, such as the Hennepin County Bar Association, the Minneapolis City Council, the St. Paul City Council, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman, Ramsey County Attorney John Choi; and groups like Breaking Free, Inc. which provides services to women and children who have been sexually exploited.
What can you do?
Simple.
Contact one (or a few, if you have the time) of the below companies that advertise in the Minneapolis City Pages (owned by Village Voice Media) and let them know they are supporting a child sex trafficking ad business. They most probably don't even know they are supporting this activity and if possible will yanks their advertising dollars. Now, you will be talking in the language that Village Voice Media understands - pocket jingle.
