Phoenix - Protest Against Village Voice's Child Sex-Trafficking Ad Business
Dozens of people gathered in front of the Phoenix New Times building to protest their affiliation with Backpage, an ad company that is suspected of featuring underage girls for sex.
Protesters say they're tired of seeing sex ads in the paper, available for free at stands across the valley.
They say it's a haven for prostitution rings. Websites like Craigslist have pulled similar ads from circulation.
"They have children for sale, they know it. Their trying to keep it as clean as they can. But the 23 million is more important than our children. We're simply saying start a legitimate busniess, this is America," says Linda Smith, War Against Trafficking Alliance.
Phoenix New Times has declined to comment at this time.
