Two people charged with hustling out a 15-year-old girl for prostitution on the Internet made their first appearance before a federal judge in Fort Worth on Tuesday, U.S. Attorney Sarah Saldaña announced.

North Texans Deundrea R. Miller, 27, and Brittainie Brattain, 21, are charged with felony sex trafficking of a child by force, fraud or coercion.

The U.S. Attorney’s office claims Miller and Brattain enticed the 15-year-old and then sold her into prostitution via Backpage.com numerous times between September 2012 and January 2013. Miller allegedly collected all the money.

The Justice Department has made fighting the sexual exploitation of children a priority.
